PAVED™ mats provide a comfortable surface to work on, whether you work with keyboard and mouse or just a laptop. A desk mat that stops dangerous microorganisms upon contact with its surface
how this works.
During production, the fabric used in our deskmats has been reinforced with an advanced nano-coating to form a non-migrating antimicrobial layer that seals the surface, creating an ultra-thin layer resembling a field of microscopic blades.
These blade-like particles are so sharp that they easily pierce cell membranes of known micro-organisms, ensuring antimicrobial properties and 24/7 protection against all viruses and bacteria. Don't worry though, these particles are so tiny that they can’thurt you, to the human touch they’re virtually imperceptible.
What’s more, as opposed to antimicrobials based on impermanent silver ion technology, the antimicrobial solution used in our desk mats and mouse pads has a lasting effect due to its physical modus operandi.
PROTECTION AGAINST 106 KNOWN VIRUSES, INCLUDING SARS-COV-2, REGARDLESS OF THE VARIANT
In studies conducted between 2018 and 2020, the renowned research institutes EUROVIR Hygiene-Labor and QualityLabs Biomaterial Testing (Germany and the UK) proved the 99.98% effectiveness of the antimicrobial coating used in PAVED™ desk mats against 106 viruses and microorganisms, including influenza A-type viruses e.g. influenza virus, its subtype H1N1/09, SARS TGEV and many more. Our desk mats are also effective against SARS-CoV-2 virus, causing the disease commonly known as COVID-19. For example, in a recent study in March 2020, a progressive reduction of 0.97 Log in coronavirus activity was recorded (t= 1h), which translates into 90% reduction after one hour, and RF = 2.7 after 8 hours which means 99.98% reduction. Moreover, as our desk mats constitute a rather physical barrier, they are effective in eliminating viruses and bacteria regardless of their variant. Nevertheless, the use of PAVED™ desk mats and mouse pads does not exempt from following sanitary regime during the pandemic.

PAVED™ mouse mats and desk mats retain their antiviral and antibacterial properties for a maximum period of 3 years. Due to intense or inappropriate usage, as well as the use of inappropriate chemical cleaning agents (cleaning liquids, alcohols), this period may be shortened. The optimum working temperature to maintain full antimicrobial functionality falls between 3 – 40 degrees Celsius.
EASY TO CLEAN AND STAIN-RESISTANT SURFACE
THE HYDROPHOBIC SURFACE
It’s no secret that mouse pads and desk mats like to get dirty. It is only a matter of time before your mat falls victim to a spilled coffee or tea and will require cleaning.
Luckily, PAVED™ desk mats, apart from antimicrobial properties, are also slightly hydrophobic, which prevents dirt, dust, and (temporarily) liquids from penetrating the structure of the material. As a result, liquids that have been spilt, instead of soaking into the material stay on the surface for a while and can be absorbed with a cloth or piece of paper towel. Specs of dust, dirt or animal fur can be easily removed with dry cloth or the soft side of a sponge. In case of severe contamination (melted chocolate, grease, hot black coffee), wipe it with warm damp cloth and soap. We do not recommend using any chemical cleaning agents or machine washing. If in doubt, follow the instructions included with the packaging.
MAXIMUM COMFORT,
REGARDLESS OF SIZE
Standard PAVED™ desk mats are larger than similar products available on the market. The 4 proposed sizes listed below have been chosen to provide a large and comfortable surface for you to work with, leaving more than double the amount of space for unconstrained mouse movement when compared to a typical mouse pad. Alternatively, we can manufacture a desk mat of a different size (bigger, smaller or something in between) to match the specific requirements of your office space. For practical reasons however, the max recommended size is 1500 x 800 mm.
The prices start at 19 EUR and scale with size and specification of the mat. The retail price of a single XL (1000 x 400 mm), custom-made, antibacterial desk mat would be 45 EUR gross. To minimize our environmental impact, PAVED™ desk mats and mousepads are manufactured in Poland using materials sourced from local suppliers. No heavy equipment or machinery is used in the production process and our energy requirements are entirely covered by Renewable Energy Sources.
PAVED™ products, unlike many popular mouse pads on the market, are made from materials that do not contain or release carcinogenic or toxic substances. What's more, all the materials we use can be recycled and reused, including the packaging itself.
SUPER GRIP, FLEXIBILITY,
AND ERGONOMICS IN 3 COLORS
The Ultra Grip base is available in white (ivory), grey, and black and has been developed from a specially selected blend of anti-slip materials. The mat has incredibly high grip and adheres perfectly to any type of surface. It lays flat on your desk and won’t move while working or even during intensive gaming sessions. To adjust the position of the mat on the table simply lift one of its corners and you will instantly feel that it effortlessly "floats" over the table making it easy to change its position if necessary.
DURABLE & FLEXIBLE
The base of the mat is completely resistant to UV and ozone induced aging. Unlike classic mouse pads, the anti-slip base used in our products will never harden or begin to crumble. What is more, it remains elastic even in extreme temperatures from -40 to +110C and after being unwound or deformed it will always return to its original shape maintaining the continuity of the material structure.
AN EGONOMIC SOLUTION
Although its antimicrobial properties play a key role in the ergonomics of our product, there’s also another important aspect worth mentioning. Particularly, if you’re a fan of mouse pads with a so-called wrist pad, or striving to execute those perfect flick shots when playing FPS games.
When using the mouse your entire forearm including the wrist and elbow should lay flat on the table. When manoeuvring the mouse sideways, itis best to use the whole forearm lifting it slightly, just enough to be able to make a move without bending the wrist if you can avoid it. This prevents strains to both the wrist and the elbow joint and enforces correct body position when sitting at a desk, also eliminating the need for the use of wrist pads, which may seem comfortable but can do more harm than good in the long run.
This is because the need to use mouse pads with a wrist pad usually arises when we assume an incorrect position by sitting too high in relation to the tabletop surface. We then expose ourselves to injuries not only to the wrist itself, but also to the shoulder and spine. Obviously, we should avoid that and using mousepads with additional wrist support in this situation is like repairing a broken window with a piece of duct tape while our house is on fire. It’s best to simply adjust the height of your chair or desk, so that when you sit down at your desk, your knees bend at a min. 90-degree angle and both forearms rest comfortably on the surface of the desk. Now the only thing remaining is to adjust the height of your monitor. Try to keep the upper part of the the screen at the eye level and you should be good to go.**
What's important, the correct position at a desk and the proper hand positioning has significant influence on the precision and repeatability of mouse movements. The forces acting on the wrist are a frequent cause of strains, but when your hands are positioned correctly, these forces are redirected to theforearm muscle which is much better suited to carry this type of load. This way we build up muscle memory, and our movements become more precise. This is especially important for professionals who use mice to draw in design programs as well as for FPS gamers.
Taking all the above into consideration, the thickness of our standard desk mats and mouse pads has been set to support proper wrist and forearm positioning by default. We made sure that PAVED™ mats provide perfectly even, slightly padded, and optimally springy surface to work on. Should you prefer something thicker, we can still do it if you so desire, but we will strongly advise against it.

The top layer of PAVED™ desk mats and mouse pads are covered with a specially developed, lint-free fabric with high abrasion resistance.
Due to the specific fibre arrangement this material ensures perfect tracking and mouse movement mapping and significantly improves the comfort of working with high-precision applications, such as graphic design software, 3D apps, CAD software, and games.

CAN YOU HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO?
Typically, mouse mats and mousepads that allow for greater control and precision of the mouse do so at the expense of increased resistance (friction), which results in lesser fluidity of movement.
Our goal from the beginning was to develop the material that would provide full freedom and fluidity of movement for the mouse while letting the user to maintain a high level of control. Within two years and having analysed nearly 200 types of fabrics, we did not find any that would fully meet our expectations.
The solution came from the development of a nano-technology mixture which, in combination with a specially woven fabric, allows us to achieve something that for many years, at least for enthusiasts, remained a dream – smooth mouse movement while maintaining perfect traction and movement mapping.

UNIQUE DESK MAT WITH THE DESIGN TAILORED TO YOUR BRAND
The feature that distinguishes our desk mats and mouse pads, apart from their antibacterial and virucidal properties, is the possibility to personalise the size, the base, and the graphics on the front of the mat.
Our designs are typically based on the corporate identity of a given brand or, if you don't have one, on the characteristic elements of your branding (logo, colour scheme, industry, values, mission, customer interviews etc.).
The main idea is to create a design reflecting the character your brand, a design which is going to be an aesthetic complement of your office space while also providing an additional layer of antimicrobial protection for both you and your customers.
For orders over 1500 EUR gross, our designers will create the design free of charge. The detail of the design is decided together with the customer and put for approval before it goes into production. In any other case, the cost of the project would be around 500 EUR gross.
CAN OUR GRAPHIC DESIGN DEPARTMENT DEVELOP THE GRAPHICS INSTEAD?
Yes. The file or the link to the file containing the graphics should be sent to CONTACT@PAVED.PL for verification. For best results, the graphics should be sent in a vector format or be saved in the highest possible resolution, exported without any colour profiles, and be within the CMYK colour space. If the image file were too low of a quality, we will try to improve it if possible. Otherwise, we will contact you and try to find another solution. We accept all types of files.
